It’s Christmas Eve and Adam has a special gift for Paul–himself, wrapped in a big red bow.

~Excerpt~

A sudden thumping on the roof had Adam straightening up, though he could see nothing other than a faint rainbow flicker of Christmas tree lights along the edges of the necktie he’d used in lieu of a blindfold. Must be the snow shifting as it melted. The building was so poorly constructed the heat from their apartment probably caused the snow to melt from the bottom out. Skyrocketing the electric bill, no doubt.

Crappy apartment.

No wonder Paul couldn’t wait to vacate their building the moment he got a big promotion with its big pay increase. The very promotion which had caused his boyfriend to be more than just absent these last few months, but a virtual stranger.

The snow shifted on the roof again.

Adam dismissed the continued creaking and let out a weary sigh when the antique mantle clock chimed for the half hour. His heart sank. Traffic wouldn’t delay Paul’s scant five-mile drive here for this long.

Paul wasn’t coming.

That hurt more than he cared to admit.

Adam cursed.

He was a dip-shit for blindfolding himself and spreading out over the couch for the last half hour, his bare ass in the air. His poor dick shriveled up in foolish embarrassment, and the damn ribbon seemed pretty stupid all of a sudden too. Maybe he would just eat all the cookies Kathy left out for Santa. And the box in the pantry.

Hell, in his state of mind, maybe he’d even eat Aunt Edna’s fruitcake. Fuck the pigeons.

With a depressed sigh, he straightened up and reached for his blindfold.

Suddenly, an incredibly warm burst of air rushed from the fireplace and whipped around his naked body. His cock shivered from the lube he’d slicked over it earlier and his nostrils filled with the scent of peppermint and vanilla.

“What the…?”

Adam’s heart skipped. He shuddered hard and his head snapped toward the source of the wind, the bells on the tree answering with a tinny jingle. Before his brain could process the bizarre phenomenon in his fireplace, there was whooshing sound and the slam of a door.

“Paul?” His voice held a tremor of uncertainty. A sharp, masculine intake of breath was the only answer.
